Intelligent overcurrent protection for communication networks with the ControlPlex® Rack
The ControlPlex® Rack reliably supplies the required technology, e.g. glass fibre routers, with power. In the event of a short circuit or overcurrent, the ESX300-S electronic circuit protectors only disconnect the affected loads. In this way, the system meets one of the central requirements for telecommuncation systems: permanent availability.
Smart technology
With the enhanced RCI11 remote control interface module, we integrate smart control and monitoring technology into the system, providing a complete modern solution. The RCI11 is the smart centre of the ControlPlex® Rack system. The electronic circuit protectors are connected via bus system.
Convenient remote control
Thanks to the integral Ethernet interface the RCI11 not only allows internal communication, but also the connection to the superordinate control unit or room. The unit collects individual measuring data for each output channel, such as current, voltage and temperature. Additionally, the status conditions and error messages of the electronic circuit protectors can be saved and transmitted to the management system. This means administrators can transparently monitor the system and actively switch on or off the output channels from anywhere. The remote access to the power distribution system holds enormous potential.
Easy troubleshooting
In the past in the event of an error, you had to send a service technician on site for an initial analysis. Smart systems such as the ControlPlex® Rack make this much easier. The error can be analysed in the control room and in the best case, it can simply be fixed with a power reset.
The remote access eliminates the need for service technician site visits, significantly reducing service costs. Collecting status information and measuring values helps detect deviations at an early stage, giving the responsible staff the chance proactively plan maintenance. Therefore, the RCI11 module is the next step towards a digitised system cabinet.
